Valentine's Day

Everybody knows what day today is! IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY! :D It's a time when all the couples go dating while all the forever-alone's just stone at home. But, why am I talking about this stuff when I should be telling how IMPACT WAS!

This week's prayer meeting was DA BOMB. We had the highest 'attendance' so far. But, it would be even better if EVEN more people came for it YA? ;)
This week, Leon did devo about us Christians being the salt and the light of the world and how we must never cover this light of ours but let it shine for the whole world to see.

After that was an awesome worship session which was led by Reuel. OH OH OH and Elijah Chua played the guitar. *ROUND OF APPLAUSE*

Since this week's impact was about valentine's day, Jon had us break up into 4 groups and come up with skits for 4 different scenarios which were : The Overpossesive Girlfriend/Boyfriend, The Unreasonable Girlfriend/Boyfriend, The Stalker and What Not To Do On A Date. Sounds like title to movies rite... :P
At the end of all the fun and laughter, Jon gave a short sharing based on Valentine's Day. He said that if anyone is thinking of getting into a relationship, he/she should sit down and think it through and always remember how it will benefit his/her relationship with God. :D

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Impact's Got Talent tickets are out and they cost RM2 per ticket. You can find these tickets from either me or Evan. There will also be a lucky draw during the event so not only the participants will be getting prizes but a few lucky people will also be leaving with prizes. For those of you who don't know, Impact's Got Talent is on March 17th.

It Ain't Gonna Fit

Wow! Trisha gave us an AMAZING time of devo this week, didn't she? I feel that all or most of us can relate with her, we shouldn't just love our friends because don't the tax collectors do that too? It's not wrong but we should really try to make a more conscious effort to love our enemies. It is never easy to love your enemy but it is a move you wont regret taking, at least you know you took the first step :)

Worship was nothin' less than Spectacular too! It was a great job by Yi Qian who was worship leading for the first time! WOOHOOO! *CLAPS HANDS* It was really good to see that the AV's Open Song was functioning (in case you didn't know, it was down for a looong time) Well God does have His way and we must always trust him :)

And the IMPACT'S GOT TALENT forms has been passed out so do paricipate and invite your friends, and let's make sure we work hand in hand to make this event a success!

Session, once again by the beloved JONATHAN NGAN! Here's my take on what I understood from Jon's sharing. GOLIATH BIG, David small. Goliath challenges Israel, David insults him by calling him an uncircumcised Philistine. They fight, David throws a rock, Goliath looks at the incoming stone and *stones*. Goliath GG.com, David takes his head :O

Goliath: Ready or not, here I come!
David: WHEEEEE! I have airy pants, what size are yours?

Nahh, that wasn't the jist of Jon's sharing. I missed out the main part, where Saul hands his Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious armor to David but David decided if he was going out to meet an uncircumcised Philistine he would do it his way, LIKE A BOSS!

So yea, you don't need to conform to the world or be what the world wants you to be. You must be who God created you to be. God made each and everyone of us special and He has different plans for all of us so the world shouldn't be deciding our future when God has already decided on what we're wearing tomorrow, what we're eating and whatever we're doing. So trust that God has THE ULTIMATE PLAN for you and don't forget He is your creator :)

Cows and Bees

Wow CNY was a whole lot of fun! And what better way to end the week by having Impact! :D First and foremost, you guys must commeeee to prayer meeting before Impact, because... prayer is important, no? :) So yup we had a small discussion of what we woud like to see happen in Impact and various answers were given like more united, have more passion for God, be more welcoming to newcomers, so on and so forth. And we must always remember that if we want to see Impact change, we must start with the Man In The Mirror. So why not begin by coming to prayer meetings eh? :P

Anyways, Yi Fen kicked start Impact by having icebreakers :) Grape, Mango, Apple. And we had a clear winner in our midst, LEONG SHIN KEAT!

Haha anyways, devo this week was led by Mr. Kevin Tan. Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth". A very nice skit by Kevin, James and Han Jiang summed up Kevin's sharing perfectly. Meek = humble and submissive. We must be obedient to God and let him take control of our lives, let him sit in that throne in your heart and we will surely be blessed :)

Worship this week was led by Tiffany 'Starbucks Queen' Chua. And it was good to worship the Lord for all the good things He blessed us with during the CNY. Especially the ang paus. Haha kidding!

Announcements: IMPACT'S GOT TALENT! Invite your friends to come either to participate or hang around:) It will be EPIC! ;)

Milk and Honey. Cows and Bees. 'Stuff' and Stings. We cannot go through life without having a few 'stuff' and stings. But if we don't make that effort to persevere through all the 'stuff' and stings in life, the cow will just be walking on further and further and we will never reach our goal. Remember it's not about who you are, it's about who He is:) So trust God that He will be able to pull you through those 'stuff' and stings :)

2nd Impact of the year ft. Step Up-ers

What can I say, Impact last week was just awesome. A lot of things happened last week. Last week was the first Impact prayer meeting! :D For those of you who don't when it is, it's at 3.30 on the 2nd and 4th weeks of the month. :) MAKE SURE YOU COME ARR!

To start of Impact, we had a sharing from El Presidente Lim Yi Fen from Matthew 5:6 : "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." We must hunger and thirst for righteousness and also do the right thing even if it means that we would stand out in the crowd. After that, she got us to reflect on our week and whether we had been living righteously in anything that we did.

As we were all in a very sentimental mood, worship by Nat started with songs of worship followed by praise songs. I'm sure we all agree that Nat is an awesome worship leader. :D

After that, we had testimonies from Shin Keat and Marcus. Shin Keat did a creative skit for his testimony (with the help of other Step Up-ers) while Marcus, well, used his awesome public speaking skills to present his testimony. :D

Well then, that was pretty much it for the 2nd week of Impact. :D
Again, prayer meeting's at 3.30 on the 2nd and 4th weeks of the month. (The next one's on the week after Chinese New Year.) Hope to see you guys there! Have an awesome Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai. :D

Wow 1 month of holidays flew by and the school term begins. I'm pretty sure most of us have learnt alot from last year, whether it was about ourselves, about others or about God. So now with the past year behind us, I'm sure we can proudly say we have come out of 2011 more matured and ready for a fresh year full of challenges.

Woohoo! 1st day of Impact was da bomb! The main thing that rang through my mind throughout the whole day was CHANGE. We started out with welcoming the new faces to Impact, I was really surprised to see a whole lot of standard six-ers stepping up into Impact and I'm glad they did:) Then sad news came as The Jeff Chok announced that he will be stepping down from the Youth Ministry. I think we all can say that Jeff was an inspiration to all of us. Thanks Jeff for being a great servant-leader and for always being there when we needed you! :')

From sad news, we now move on to happy news! :D Jon gave his first sharing as the official Youth Ministry Pastor this week! Yea! And he highlighted changes that would be occuring throughout the year. One of them was the official launch of Impact 2012 - Impact's Got Talent! It would serve as an event where we can welcome our fellow unchurched friends to come and join in the fun! More importantly we would be in line with our church's goal of reaching out to the new, the young and the unchurched.

Jon also mentioned that Impact should not be a Saturday 4-7pm church thing but it should be carried out throughout our life, we should constantly try and make an impact on someone's life, no matter how small, that impact still changes lives. So let us not waste anymore time in our short lives God has given us and make an impact on other people lives like the little mosquito :) God Bless!

Trails and temptations

HII GUYS!
So worship was led by Reuel. It was reaally good and we could feel the presence of God :)
and after that, everyone broke into their forms for discussion.
I don't know what's going on in the cell of the other forms. but i'll be sharing on what happened in the discussion of the 97'ers :D

First, what's the difference between trails and temptations?
In my opinion, i think temptations is only 1 form of trials, trials include many other forms.

so, first ill talk about TRIALS. then we'll look into TEMPTATIONS. :)

what are trials for?
To help us realize our mistakes.
To test our faith and keep us persevering
Do you know what is refining? it is to free something from impurities.
God puts trials in our lives to refine us, to free us from impurities.

Temptations.
Satan uses some strategy and tricks to lead you into temptation.
He identifies a desire in you, a sinful desire, then he makes you doubt God, after that, Satan lies to you about God isn't almighty etcetc. and lastly, you DISOBEY, you act on the thought toying in your mind. and if you give in, you fall into the trap of lies.

Everything comes with a way of overcoming. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE LORD! Amen? :DD

So, how to overcome.

Trials
You can't change the situation, but you can change yourself! :D So take trials as a jigsaw puzzle, btw our faci made us do a puzzle consisting of 700+ pieces, it was TOUGH! and we needed the picture to take us somewhere. We were each given parts to complete. Trials are the same, we should keep looking at God's purpose for us and not the hard times we're facing. Turn your focus to what God has in store for God is the Potter and we are the clay! :D

Temptations
You have to recognize your pattern of temptation and be prepared for it. When you're tempted, focus your attention on something else, you don't have to fight the thought. And most importantly, Request God's help, Ask and you shall receive. Ask him to give you strength to face temptation. Have faith! You can do all things through HIM! :D

So today, we had a veryvery meaningful impact. I think it kept you thinking alot?! :)
For icebreaker, we had FAST RHYTHM SIGNS. It was reaaally funny :P and The punishment for the people who lost was IF YOU"RE HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT ;D
Praise and worship was led by Shin Lin. :) They did a very good job! yess? :)
Then, Shin Yong shared his experience in RBS. 6 people from pjefc had attended this 5 weeks and a half camp. there, they learnt some spiritual diciplines.
And then, Rachel shared about the things that draw us away from God.
God is always knocking on the doors of our hearts, But what's important we have to open the door to let Him in. yes, we might be busy with our schedule but remember who is the one that created the HEAVENS and the EARTH. Without God, We are nothing. SO ALWAYS PUT GOD BEFORE EVERY SINGLE THING YOU DO!
Anyways, im gonna post this video. i know some of you might watch it in your CF already but take this as a reminder kay :)

Hii guys! so this week, we had some facis to share about WE WORSHIPERS :)
An AWESHUME acoustic worship was led by Paul :)

So now i present SUMMARY OF THE SHARINGS OF THE FACIS :)

Some of us may think Worship is just a 30 minute slot, or just helping out or even just a lil talent you can show off. BUT NO, worship isn't about us, Worship is about God. and Worship isn't what you do only on Sundays. If you don't worship 7 days a week, Sunday is not worship at all! Think of worship NOT what you show outwardly, but what's inside that you want to offer to God. So guys, i know some of you might think WORSHIP IN IMPACT/SERVICE must perfect with probably 5 electronic guitars with 2 drummers? nahh, God looks at your heart, you can actually Worship without music O: So don't feel discourage if you can't sing/play a musical instrument coss worship is what you do everyday, and your actions must please God ;)

Paul: if the words does not relate to you, you have to think, IS THIS WORSHIP? You can also worship through things you're good at :) like poetry for instance dancing? :) You can express your worship to God through EVERYTHING :D.

So wrapping up, remember worship is not only singing, reading the bible and praying is also part of it :)

So basically, it was about BEING PROUD OF YOURSELF! :)
let me tell you bout what happened in the room on the 97-ers :D

First they gave us a mirror to e passed around, i was pretty confused :P and honestly, i was busy checking my hair and all, (um also known as taking advantage of the mirror ;P) not knowing he topic of the discussion. Heheeee.

then they gave us notes :) the verse was taken from Ephesians 1: 1-14.
i had a hard time understanding it :P
Noticed the word PREDESTINED in your notes.
Predestined means believing in everything that has been decided in advance by God.
Which he works out everything conformity with the purpose of his will. :)
We have to be proud with what God gave us. ;)

And of cause who can forget *repeats it together* THE CIRCLE OF TRUTH.

And that pretty much wraps it up for this weeks Impact...

I was quite happy to see our ex-Form Fives coming back to Impact to help out

And of cause not to mention all our other Feci's too :P

Back to the main point.

Who had fun in Neverland?

So we began with the introduction of the rules, and then moved to the introduction of the visitors some who came for the 1st time and one more Aussie ;D

Welcome!!!

So I don't think I have to say much about the event except for the fact that it was really really fun.

There were fun station games and all, but the main thing is that we all had fun in the end :)

I still had fun with Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Tinkerbelle, AND Wendy!

Well, almost succeeded lar.

It was an encouragement to find so many Form Fivers around even though it's in the middle of their exams.

We ended playing Captain (Hook) ball later!

I think that wraps it up! The last day of IMpact ended but the spirit and joy of IMpact will be with all IMpactors. :]

Remember that we are gonna have a sleepover on the 16th to 18th December!

And to all Form Fives (even though you guys should be studying and not reading this) all the best to the rest of your exams guys!!

Maybe its because of the fact that I'm leaving IMpact soon, but I don't want to grow up. What I was wondering is that wouldn't it be great if neverland existed?? You know neverland as in Peter Pan neverland.

The LAST

It was the last CG today. but only for this year =)

I'm sure all of us had a good year of Cell groups. Well, if you didn't you might wanna talk to weili :) she'll help you :D Dont worry. We want you guys and gals to enjoy yourselves.

There's a trip to the orang asli church either this coming wednesday or friday. So avail yourselves for a fun time of painting :) for more details on the time, feel free to ask any of the committee.

Next week will be THE LAST WEEK of IMPACT D:

We're gonna have a BLAST so bring your friends!

We'll be updating still for other activities during the holidays. For example, Chirstmas Party! :) Yup so keep checking the blog!

A Day of Prayer

We youths can be serious too :)

As we showed everyone when we walked around and prayed for our church and community.
It was good to see that most of us took this seriously.

After that a few of us went to Jaya One to talk, while the others stayed in church to play sports or play music.

The prayer walk doesn't end here. The walk can be continued to be our lives. Our entire life is a walk--a journey--and we need prayer to keep us walking in the right direction. I really hope that this won't be just an IMpact thing. Hope you guys will continue to pray when times are bad and when times are good :)

Today, Nathaniel led impact into a time of praise and worship. It was a full band worship this time around. Then Jeff shared AGAIN! =D

This time there were no blue marbles but he gave us this verse to ponder on!

Its Proverbs 3:3-8

³ Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
⁴ Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.

⁵ Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
⁶ in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Jeff shared today about Impact and how we should GIVE and Take. Its not good to keep giving until you're all dried out. Yet again, not GIVING is really bad. When we all take up the role of serving; Impact will be a great place :) Serve in worship, AV, publicity (haha, yes the blog needs YOU!), CG, sports from 6-7, participating in the events we conduct, even serving by being a friend to someone who's lonely or down.

Then we had a game 'smartly designed' by Rachel Chow.

And the game was so fun...and HARD!!

But we had fun didn't we? Especially the Form 5's who had a 'little' help xD

Cell Group Fellowship

For those of you who couldn't make it for impact last week, we had Cell Groups as usual.

When we have fellowship, each cell group does their own thing. We all had worship in our own cells and then a discussion or a game or maybe both :)

From 6-7 upstairs, we played volleyball.

I really encourage you to join us upstairs, bonding physically is a whole different thing ;)

Hope to see more of you people upstairs at the sports complex!

Oh yea, the six points.

The Word

Basically the Bible is VERY important. Its good for teaching, rebuking and a lot of other things. When we are tempted the word will help us stand strong. Its also really useful for defending your faith. When people ask you about what you believe in, you'll be able to answer them. So, read your bible kids! ;D haha, no seriously read your bible.

Be Calm

(Jesus calm the storm)

Be calm in every situation. For God is the solution! :) First thing to do when you're facing a difficult situation is to go to God. Think about What Jesus Would Do. (WWJD)

Be Quiet

Its better to not say anything than to say something that would hurt someone else. Oh and when you're quite its easier to hear God's voice. When we stay quite, we are more focused.

Be Brave

Don't be afraid to stand up for what is right. Cause Jesus did it for us.

The Truth

Jesus is the truth. We as Christians are to live by what we believe in.

Be Faithful

Cling on to God. He will never leave you.

Oh somewhere along the line he said talked about hidden Greatness and how we must be humble and self confident at the same time.

This week at IMpact was very interesting right...WEILI?

Yes this week we celebrated our current president's birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEILI!

Haha...you suspected something, but didn't expect this right? =P

In other news, we had CG's again this week, and we discussed on parents...and how, even though they seem to be against you, they are still the better authority...and they know better

Parents, we have learned to appreciate you more =P

Later on we had a rather nice game of volleyball...

A different perspective

There are lots of challenges in out lives especially being teenagers.

Agree? This house believes so too.

Anyway it was what the speaker, Frank Schattner agreed on too..

Okay he said it.

He grew up in the United States. His parents moved to US cause of the war in Germany. Yea, he was in high school then and in his teenage years he wanted to find the purpose of life and THE creator. So he decided to steal a bible just to find out for him self what the bible and Christianity was about. Yes he stole the bible and read it secretly just to find out who God was

As he read the bible he started realising that it was true and he became a Christian. No one guiding him (of cause God was behind all these), just figuring and trying to understand the bible.

One day, after he became a Christian he asked God to help him stop swearing. And in one day he stopped swearing completely.. But he needed to learn how to speak English as he had lost multiple words in his vocabulary.

He went to a university where everything was liberal and there he sat in his room looking out of the window. The view of a few other thousand rooms and there the Holy spirit asked him to witness to all the people living in the campus. As he got to know people there he found a group of Christian friends. They had this campus crusade called the navigators.

He was also a runner, an athlete. a really good one indeed. He trained for 8 years to be on the Olympic tract team. But he had to quit his dream to do God’s work. He became a missionary at the age of 24. He first read a book about 5 missionaries who went out into the jungle and were killed then after reading the book he told God that he would want to serve him and help those people in the tribal/rural areas. And so God used him.

He also mention that 80% of people in US become Christians in high school.

He said that our high school life is the best time to reach out to others.

Go tell your friends! :D Tell them the goooood news!

The thing he stressed most about was our problems.

And how our problems are similar..

One was to help solve these problems is by looking at it in a different perspective.

Choosing BETTER over bitter. And when we fail we try again.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

Lastly be people of character. Don’t follow the ways of the world. The scripture says that we are in the world but not of it. So follow God’s way of life J

This week, Reuben shared with us about leadership! *pats Reuben on the back* "Good job, Reuben!" :D Well, basically, the poem above has pretty much summarized his sharing as a whole. The point which stood out to me the most from his sharing was that, as a leader, it is not only important that you encourage others, you need to be encouraged BY others as well! :)

Proverbs 27:17- As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Tadaa~ I finally found the verse! :) So yup, Impactors, never forget to encourage one another under any circumstances at all, as your encouragement can really help one develop his/her leadership skills! Have a great week ahead! God bless you all! :)

HELLO :D

Yes, last Saturday impact had our first in-cell CG worship. Which means each cell group had their own worship in their cell. Yea, if you went... you should know what i'm talking about.

I'm sure all of us had a great time with our cell group :)

Getting to know each other better or just fellowshipping with each other.

CG's are held on the 1st and 3rd week of the month.

Next week, we will berbonding-bonding with our forms! :D

Of Multitasking And Flying Cards

Impact this week started off with a heartfelt time of worship led by Miss Shin Lin! (it was her first time, whoooh! :D) Then, we had the wonderful privilege of having the best 'guest speaker' ~~cos he has the special ability of taking in loads of oxygen (GAS speaker, HOHOHO)~~ of all, our very own beloved,

THE JEFF CHOK!

Look! He so special. He SHARES on a CHAIR, HA HA HA :D

Okay, CHEESECAKE! *that was originated from me you know! :'D AHAHA* Anyway, Jeff shared with us about MULTITASKING.

Yes, multitasking here refers to:

Responding to people's questions while being hooked onto your electronic devices

Studying while logging on to Facebook at the same time

'Listening' to sermons in church while fiddling with your cellphones

Doing your homework while listening to your favourite Taylor Swift song., ETC.

Multitasking can also refer to focusing on too many things at a time, until you become unproductive in all the things you needed to accomplish.Well, yes, it is true that God has given us the ability to multitask (imagine not being able to breathe while doing anything at all! ~~Jordin Sparks different la, she NO AIR ma~~), but it doesn't mean we have to always put that ability into use, as multitasking may be useful at times, but at other and most times, harmful.

What I absorbed the most from Jeff's sharing today was that multitasking can actually affect your relationships with God, and with others.

Mark 12:30-31- "Love the Lord your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: 'Love your neighbour as yourself'. There is no commandment greater than these."

Remember, God said, the two greatest commandments are to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbour as yourself. So we're not going to neglect these two great commandments by multitasking excessively and possibly affecting our relationship with God and others, are we? Here, I give you another verse to reflect on!

Luke 5:16- "But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed"

Sometimes, we just have to take a break from the world, quit multitasking and being busy so much and spend some time alone with God; in prayer, just like Jesus did. To cut down on facebook, and face reality instead, which we know we CANNOT pull through alone, but only with and by God's strength.

After form discussions, the Impacters then had fun and fellowship; some played games upstairs, some played Mafia in the lounge and some.... (haiyo, *shakes head*)

Okay, I don't have much to write about because I came late...I had a very valid excuse...
Well, from what I heard it was a good message...all the laughing meant it was okay.

Later on we split into our CGs... and NEW ROOMS.

Now I understand why the form 3s are so united...their room is so nice +_+

Actually, the topic was about Vampires and their change in mythology.

Isn't it strange that we are being desensitized from evil? Vampires, for example, were once regarded as pure evil, but in time, they became gangsters, and then eventually almost human. What's the meaning of this??

Well...it's really up to you to come up with your own conclusion...

I've got 6 minutes to blog impact the other day, wait, yesterday. Was it? oh yeaa.. sorry

So. there was the ice breakers..

which was explaining the meaning and the language of your group which was chosen by the committeeee.

it was kinda cool.

i still like 'unidad' (i dont think that's how you spell it..)

Then worship by yifen, joanna, alycia, gloria and tian xi. eh? why all girls ar?! :P

After that Pastor Aaron shared about john 13

which was Jesus washing his disciples feet.

He then showed us a video clip of a word for word passage.. It was SC (SO COOL!)

After explaining and all.. He suddenly said that Jeff and himself were gonna wash the Cell group leaders feet. And that the would have to wash their members feet.

For me personally it was like supper the paiseh. Letting Jason Wee wash my feet?

then we broke up into our cell groups and discuss about the meaning of being humiliated and being humble and all.

Well, for me was really great.

I dont know about you, but i guess MOST of us that went for camp had a GREAT TIME!

BTW we learn that AWESOME is only used for GOD

YOU see, if you use awesome to describe other stuff then the word Awesome would be less Awesome. In conclusion, only GOD is AWESOME!

Of Rain Drops and Forgiveness

I went to hear a speaker the other day who talked about forgiveness, and thought I should share this story with you all...

He was told this story by someone trying to understand forgiveness after he had told him about Jesus' forgiveness of sin:

'Is forgiveness like this?' the man began, 'Let's say we are a drop of water living on a cloud. Then one day we became heavy with sin and we 'fell'! We fell all the way down and into a puddle of mud. We became so dirty and wished that the dog will come and lick us so we could be clean. But no matter how much the dog licked us, we could not get completely clean. So God made the 'SUN' and He gave us, the raindrop, a way to get closer to the 'Sun'(Son). Is forgiveness like this?'

I was like wow...God's love for us can be seen in the water cycle process!!!

Don't we have a loving God who sent His Son as a way to be closer to Him once again!!??

How Great Is Our God!

Hi there dear Impactors, after listening to Ps. Soon Hock's sermon this morning, I decided to watch a video I once watched during one of my school's CF Meetings which really left me in awe. I told myself that I MUST share this with you all. So, here the videos are, in this post. There are five parts to it, do feel free to watch all five, but here's the two which are similar to Pastor's message today about how BIG our Lord God Almighty is!

Okay, so let's just start off with this; We, regardless of height, size etc, are on that tiny speck there- namely Earth. ~~Wah, then what is Pluto right!~~

Now watch these, and prepare to be jaw-droppingly amazed. Our God is an awesome God.

I'm speechless. Literally. We worship a star-breathing God, a God so great that no words can fully describe Him. Wow. Just look at how He created the universe.

Our beloved country, Malaysia is about 329 663 square kilometres (source: Geography revision book) in landmass. Pretty huge huh? *YA THINK?* What about the continent it's located in then? Asia. Asia is HUGEEE, seriously, who can deny that? Think Asia's huge?

What more the largest ocean in the world, the Pacific Ocean? What more the entire earth, consisting of around 195 countries and millions of species? What more the Sun? What more the entire solar system? What more the Milkyway galaxy? What more the entire Universe which consists of I-HAVE-NO-IDEA-BUT-I-KNOW-IT'S-A-CRAZY-NUMBER galaxies?

How big, how GREAT then, is our God, the One who created all of these without even lifting a finger? The same God who knows the number of hairs covering every scalp on this planet. The same God who knows each of us by name and loves us unconditionally, who promised never to ever leave nor forsake us. We, we are like, smaller than yocto-organisms (prefix value of 10^-24) compared to all the stars mentioned in the video, and yet, this God, this GREAT God, is knocking on the door of each of our hearts, waiting for us to let Him in.

So, let Him in, will you?

i'm sure it has. everyone faces this hurdle somewhere in your life, if not now then soon.

I definitely have faced this recently, which prompted me to share with you guys something i learnt this year,

on being grateful,

being thankful,

not merely focusing on the gift, rather the giver,

and most importantly,

how we should not waste our time

thinking about all the wonderful things

God could have given you,

rather focus on what is already given, and multiply it.

lets take a look at what the bible has to say abt this.

1 Corinthians 12

Spiritual Gifts

¹Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. ²You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. ³Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

okkk.... maybe that was a lil bit too many words, but essentially, everyone plays their part in God's Kingdom.

So what if you are just a chunk of flesh on your, say, thumb. but imagine if that pieces of flesh isnt there, do you think you will be able to manoeuvre your thumb the same way?

rather than delving into biology on how cells work and such, simply the answer is NO.

your thumb will never be the same.

So if God see's fit, to give you a tin can of coke, praise His glorious name,

because he saw you fit, to be given a gift from God.

Are we going to take this lightly?

just mumble and sulk and not invest in God's gift?

I certainly hope not.

but heres another thought to ponder on:

Ppl who are given an immense number of talents, will never be rewarded as much as those ppl who strive hard, work harder to achieve the same goal. sure you have to to work harder, but hey, you definitely learned more, and you gained more in the long term. =)

so with all that said and done...

i have a craving for a bottle of coke...

When we sang this song today...it was meaningful. Worship today, even though the piano was not on and all, was just awesome.

Anyways...IM:pact was awesome. We had something sort of a worship workshop, and don't worry, we are gonna have another one soon =D

I'm sure those who joined us for games after that had an awesome time at volleyball. =P

As you may have already heard, SAND is coming to PJEFC and giving a concert on Saturday, 15 May at 730pm.

Plan goes like this, people will gather for dinner at 6pm on that day. Dinner is only available to those who have tickets which will be Rm5 each . Ticket entitles the bearer to attend the concert, which is open to all :) So ya, it's a dinner concert.

Anyway, yep SAND BAND.. So Cool, RIGHT? :D hehe

Taking Up The Cross

Easter@IM:pact was...challenging...but I'm sure you all had fun...

It began with worship lead by James....then did the games begin!

IM:pact was split into groups and each group was given a cross to carry. There were six stations and each station was made a difficult as possible...with equally tough punishments. Why?

At each station...the groups had three options if they could not complete the task given: Give up a part of the cross, recite a memory verse or do the punishment....it's good that all the teams didn't want to give up the cross and they endured the punishments...which was the whole point of the games.

Basically the game was based on this theme: Are we willing to give up the cross the moment difficulty comes? Will we endure whatever that may come our way to hold on to the cross?

But are we really willing to do just that in a real life situation? When it's outside the church? Sure it's easy to understand the concept about holding on the the cross, but when we are faced with hardships?

The reason for the memory verse? When we are faced in a difficult situation, the Bible is our way out. It is after all the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth...it HAS the answer to ALL our problems...ALL our troubles...ALL our tribulations. So learn your Bible now and know how to 'answer every man'.

Another theme that was not in the original plan came into the games: John 15:13. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. It was inspirational to see other members do the punishments to spare their friends who could not accomplish the task assigned.

Well, it was an awesome IM:pact.
Many were excited...because their camp had just ended, and some were voiceless...hello? can you hear me?

Im:pact had it's usual awesome Saturday.
It started off with a game called 'Bang' led by Eirene...in the end it was Jason vs Joseph. And Jason won...Weee!!! x)
Then we had worship led by Alycia...though the PA system was a bit glitchy...it was a great session.
Later on Ps. Aaron shared on John 15:12-15

He began with asking us how much are we willing to give up for a friend? Alycia answed her life...so righteous.

The message was centered around this:

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Are we willing to do just that?

We later split into out age groups where we had time to discuss about the message...plus other things.

OKay, Impact on the 27 of Feb went well! :D

We started of with an ice breaker called duck duck goose goose which was led by Alycia. Yep, we used duck :) hehe

Then after a few rounds, of ducking :P Yifen led Impactors in to a time of worship. (Saying YIFEN feels kinda weird!) After worship, was a sharing by Elder Wong Heng on John 15

To summarise it,

Bibles and Handphones

IM:PACT started off with a game called 'Ha' 'Ha'...led by Yi Fen. it had to do with not laughing while saying 'Ha'...'Ha''ha'...'Ha''ha''ha'

Then we had an awesome time of worship led by Zhi Ling.

Ps.Aaron then shared with us from John 15:4-5. It was a short and simple message that I'm sure many of us could relate to. He compared the Bible with our phones. Think about this:

What if we treated our bibles like our phones?

If we bring it everywhere we go?

If we checked it every five minutes?

If we go all the way back to get it?

If we use it all the time?

If we can't live without it?

Just like we grow socially though our phones; we can grow spiritually though our Bibles.

*the message says: Treat Jesus better than me*

REMEMBER THIS:

THE COST FOR TALKING TO JESUS IS PREPAID.

He has already paid the price.

Heyo peeps! =D

First time blogging here, and i must admit, its quite the scary. xD

anyway, reminder to all impactors, there IS impact this week. Look forward to an awesum weekend ;) (i dunno bout you people, but i missed impact when we didnt have it last week =p)

Ps Aaron will be speaking, and he will be covering our verse for the year: John 15.

So bring your bibles and your notebooks, and prepare your hearts for God's word. I'd really encourage all of you to read John 15 before saturday, so you at least know what's going on. ;)

Valentines Day Special

It started of with some icebreakers led by Weili and Rayshell :) It was like a game where you gotta find a partner that has the same characteristic as you do. Example, Rayshell would say, Find someone of the opposite sex who is wearing the same shirt colour as you are! Then we would go looking for someone with the same shirt colour. The Icebreakers meant to warm us up as well as to arrange the placing for dinner. Yes, you're partner for the dinner. Like gentlemanshould, the guys took food for the girls :D Yep, So the girls just had to wait to be served.

After the wonderful meal, Emcee Alycia and Reuben awarded the Mr. and Mrs. Valentine! It went like this, the crowd would nominate 3 guys and 3 girls to be crowned Mr. and Mrs. Valentine. But obviously they gotta compete to see who should win. like Duh?! XD So, the guys nominated from the crowd were Tian xi, Reuel and Ian Tan. On the other hand was Eirene, Rayshell and Amanda. All the guys needed to do was say super romantic pick up lines. Tian Xi didn't know what to say.. So he sang 'When you look me in the eyes by the Jo Bro's' He sang it to Eirene :) hehe. It was then Reuel's turn to prove him self. He told Rayshell something about the Pink Cloud. It didn't really work out but he's has a long way to go! :D So don't worry Reuel :) Lastly was Ian who asked Amanda to check her pockets because he heart is in there!!?! haha

So now you must be wondering what do the girls have to do to win?! Well, they had to come out with the Best Reject Line! (The opposite of a pick up line?) Eirene said, I would like to treat you to a drink but I'd be jealous of the glass!!? Rayshell basically told Reuel that she didn't get it.. Amanda however came up with this, I've just checked my pockets and I'm sorry to say that i didn't find your heart but i just realised that you borrowed my RM1 and I WANT IT BACK!! :P haha So, Ian and Amanda were crowned Mr and Mrs Valentine.

This was followed by a Great time of worship led by Joanna *First timers!* Impact was ended with a short game. Its called Romeo or Juliet. Everyone would sit in a circle and the person who's 'IT' will go to the center and be blind folded. Then 'IT' would go up to someone and ask, Are youmy Romeo or my Juliet? Then the person chosen would have to answer in a weird voice so that 'IT' wont be able to find out! :)

Valentines Day isn't about teddy bears, flowers or even chocolate's! That's just how the world sees it. The love found in the world is nothing compared to how much God loves us!!

That's for next week! :) This week we started Impact with the usual icebreaker, SIGNS! After all the hand signaling and trying to guess who's IT.. We went into a great time of worship led by Rayshell. When worship ended, the Emcee, Reuben made the announcements! Which was basically what I've already wrote this now.. Yea, the V'day one! The microphone *the one with a personality* was then passed to Jeff and he sort of introduced to us who our speaker was. His name is *Grand Music Plays which is then continued by drum rolls..* PASTOR RONNY, use to be youth pastor!!

He's this guy who was born in Australia

Moved to Holland when he was 8.

His parents divorced when he was 12 and he went through many difficulties in life.

When he was 18 he went back to Australia.

Got married!

Searched for the living God and found HIM :)

Had 2 kids.

One day, he came back from work as usual and found out that his wife and kids weren't home. He saw a note his brother left on the table that asked him to go to the hospital for something has happened. He asked his neighbor to pray for his family cause he knew smth was wrong. When he reached the hospital he found out that his wife didn't make it and both his kids has really bad head injuries. The doctor said that they wouldn't survive but with loads of church members and Christians coming to pray and lay hands after 6 weeks they were completely healed!! Praise GOD! Amen? even the doctors said it was some one so almighty who did the healing!! Our God is an Awesome God alright!!

God Blessed him abundantly and he got married again with another two kids.

Then one day, God ask him to leave his comfort zone and serve him.

They left everything behind and came to Malaysia.

Paster Ronny is now ministering/serving God in Kalimantan

*Did you know in a one day 40,000 people around the world die cause they have no food?! How sad is that?*

He helps the children there who have no food and no medical treatment at all.

Some of them die cause they have lots of scars on their hands and feet.. And they don't have dettol to clean their wound.

If they get sick there's no clink to go to at all..

Ps. Ronny went there and started taking in kids..

First 7 kids then 30 and now he has 400 kids! :D

He bought a piece of land and has build a school there for the kids and is building a hospital..

They need lots of prayer and it would be good if we could remember them in our prayers.

All of us have a purpose in life and we have to fulfill that purpose that God has given to us.

God is using him to do His will *Which is his purpose* and I'm sure he will be VERY HAPPY to use you as well *for different purposes as well as spreading HIS love*

Third week of IM:PACT

Hello, fellow Impact-ors! :) Since Reuben was MIA on Saturday, *sniff sniff* and Yi Fen hasn't updated the blog about the third week of Impact, I decided to save her some time :)

The third week of Impact started off with Rayshell as the emcee- the new comers of Impact were asked to come up to the front to introduce themselves to us; telling us their names, age and the color of their toilet bowls (why that, actually, Rayshell? HAHA) It's great to have new comers at Impact! Especially you awesome Form 1s! I loveeeeee Form 1s! :D (Okay, Alycia, jangan terpesong)

After the emcee-ing, we proceeded into a short icebreaker, where we played the Whispering game! *whisperwhisper* :D In that game, I (Alycia la) was to whisper something random into the ears of the people at the corner of the human horseshoe and they were to whisper it into the ears of the people who were sitting next to them, and this went on until the message reached the middle person. That person would come up to the front and say the final product of the sentence. The accuracy of the two sentences were then compared.

Well, it was really hilarious how a message like "The cameraman didn't know how to whistle, so he asked his camera to take up whistling classes from the cellophone tape." could end up as

"THE CAMEL ON A WHISTLE" - David Everns Lim :P

Good job la, HAHA. Anywayy, Impact resumed with a wonderful time of worship led by James and his team :) Oh, announcements this week-

1) IMPACT SLEEPOVER
- has been postponed, it will NO LONGER be on Jan 29th as planned
- When, you ask, will it be then? AHHA! That's for you to come to Impact EVERY WEEK to find out! Muahahaha *cough* Okay la, it'll probably be somewhere in May xD

2) IMPACT'S VALENTINE'S DINNER
- will be on 6th February 2010! *people applaud*
- It will be from 5.30 pm- 9.30 pm :) Come on time ar! Afternoon sessioners who have school on that day, aiya that one give chance la :)
- No, there won't be any special/out of the ordinary dress code, thanks to *lalalala* :P You can, still come in dresses (for the girls) and your smart-looking collared shirts (for guys) if you want to though :) But not too formal, of course, as it is just a simple Impact dinner :)
- Pastor Aaron will be speaking that day, so you DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS, you guys! :) It'll be awesome! :D
- Remember to bring along RM5 to the dinner if you're coming for it! Wait, what do I mean IF! WHEN you come for the dinner! It's an event you definitely won't wanna miss! :)

3) THERE WILL BE NO IMPACT MEETING ON 13th FEBRUARY 2010
- Why? Because, HAPPY HAPPY CNY! HAPPY HAPPY YOU AN I! :D *okay, I can't stand that song xD* So yup, Impact-ors, take note! :D

Okay, moving on! We had Uncle Allen Kam to come up to share his message with us :D *YAY* He spoke mainly about GOING BACK TO BASICS.

To summarize what he spoke about, here's something real important that we must always remember :) Going back to BASICS, what does BASICS really mean?

B- Bible
A- Acknowledge
S- Sacrificial Love
I- Impact
C- Communion
S- Salvation and Service

Remember, everyone! Going back to basics will really help to ground you, so everytime you face a challenge in life, you know what you have to do- Go BACK TO BASICS :) Also, always be a friend to someone. Reach out not only to your close friends, but to anyone at all! By doing that, you're really making an impact in your school, or wherever you are!

After that, we broke into our forms to discuss about the message that was bestowed upon us. Then, those who wanted to play games went ahead to do so, and TNF did their TNF thing and so on so forth :)

While last year's form fives and the CUG were busy in Step Up, we IM:pactors had our own Step Up.

Anyways...

We started of with an icebreaker called Poke-A-Tissue. Why Poke-A-Tissue? Cos the instructions were written on a piece of tissue -_-" Trust Alycia to come up with that. It was something like musical chairs but without chairs. So when the music stops, Alycia reads out the instructions and within five'ish seconds you are suppose to do whatever the tissue says la...

Later we had worship lead by Tian Xi without all his friends...

Weili and Joseph did some questions to ask the com, and after that we had sign-up time followed by Captain Ball in the sports complex.

And that was IM:pact's second week.

This is a recap for today,

We started of with a small ice breaker just to introduce the new comers and the form 1's. Then we went into a time of worship lead by Alycia and team. After that, JEFF made a few announcement..

the third place

an interesting idea of having the church as the third place. so what's a third place? your first place is home, where you spend most of the time (i hope :-) eat, sleep, be with family... the second place would either be school or workplace. so where do you go to chill and spend quality time with your friends? is your third place the mall? hope not... can church be our third place?

check out java joe's, a coffee place operated by a church (they have pictures too :-) can we do something similar for our lounge? well maybe not turn our lounge into starbucks, but can it be a nice comfortable living room for us to hang-out, have meetings, and as a service to the youth's (including college peeps) in pjefc?

HOW WAS IMPACT CAMP 2009?! :D

Okay, this is just a post to see if anyone actually still checks out and responds to the blog posts on this page, since you know *cough* TIAN XI *cough* has abandoned it since June and all :P , but hey! Do respond to my question k! I would like to know your answers to that! WASN'T CAMP JUST AWESOME! It was definitely beyond that to me! The best camp I've ever been to! :)

Oh, and if people actually respond to this post, I shall post up the details of the Impact Christmas Party here! :) Alrighty. God bless you all! Have a blessed Christmas!

Hey all! J

This week, we were extremely blessed to have Dr. Yee Fong at our Impact Ministry to share God’s words with us. He mainly spoke about the relationship we have and should have with our PARENTS.

Did you know, that RELATIONSHIP is the most essential and important thing in the world? Yes, it is indeed true.

Even in Matthew 22:37-40, it says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” This means to say that, relationship is really all that important, especially our relationship with God and our PARENTS.

However, some of us teenagers today, are facing many ‘teeny-weeny’ (or in some circumstances, not so ‘teeny-weeny’) problems in achieving that ideal relationship with our parents. And why is that? Well, one of the main reasons this is happening is because the way parents and teenagers think most of the time make it seem like as if they are from two different planets! (Seriously!)

I’m pretty sure that most of us have thought of our parents as old-fashioned at some of them moments like for example, when your mom asks you for help to switch on the television when it has been in the house for the past, what, ten years? Well, guess what? You certainly cannot blame them for this as some of our parents come from extremely different backgrounds. (Or eras, some would say) And sometimes, these different backgrounds which they come from have shaped them to show less affection towards their children (us) although, deep inside, they really do love us. Really, there are parents out there who have never even hugged their children once in their entire lives! So, what do WE as the young ones who are craving for more affection from our parents have to do about this? Yes, we can’t just expect our parents to make the first move all the time; why not, WE make more effort in showing our parents how much we love and appreciate them first? We can start with baby steps such as thanking them for doing the simplest favors for us, telling them that we love them everyday and maybe even buying their favorite ‘tau foo fa’ for them! Now, THAT would soften their hearts for sure! (:

Well, the key to a great relationship with our parents would definitely be COMMUNICATION. Without communication, a relationship would go nowhere. Therefore, how do we communicate with our parents? Sometimes, we teenagers get SO engrossed with our computers, PSP’s and whatnot, that even when our parents are talking to us, we have our backs facing them! And so, this HAS to change! We NEED to have that sync with our parents and we can do that through many ways, such as face-to-face talks, phone calls, SMS, Facebook, online and so on. With less ‘silent treatments’ and more of communication, I am certain that there would be no more room for, “Mom/Dad! YOU JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND!” Remember, it is our PURPOSE IN LIFE to make relationships work, especially with our parents and yes, indeed, RELATIONSHIPS ARE PARAMOUNT! We may have several obstacles in our way to achieve that desired relationship with our parents, such as the technological and different-brain barriers but hey, WE need to make the effort to break that barrier. Oh, and yes, never take your parents for granted by only going to them when you need their help or perhaps your monthly allowance. Don’t forget to SMS your parents!

We were blessed to have Kelvin Lim (Director, 1AM Ministry from Eaglepoint Christian Fellowship) to speak.
He shared about Living a Worship Lifestyle. He talked about being rich and famous.

I know many of us want to be Rich and famous. Is it wrong to want to live that kind of lifestyle? But by living a Worship lifestyle we can also be famous and rich. But first things first what does Worship actually mean??
The word 'Worship' came from the word "weothspice" then soon became "Worthship" then Worship.

The main thing is:
How Do We live a Worship Lifestyle then??
By allowing Jesus to be Lord of your life.
How? In Luke 8: 20-21,

it says:
20. Someone told Him, " Your mother and brothers are standing outside, waiting to see you."

21. He replied, " My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into practice. "

Which means you must know God's word to be able to put it into practice. If not you wont know what to practice. It is through devotion you read God's word.

Doing devotion is not just reading but its only when you practice on what you meditate then you will start living a worship lifestyle. But sometimes doing devotion may get boring and soon you find yourself delaying it. To solve that problem we should ask the holy spirit to help us with reading the bible and ask the holy spirit to speak to us through the words.

Devotion + Holy Spirit = WORSHIP LIFESTYLE :)

When we do our devotion. We are like applying S.O.A.P ( Not literally )

Prayer

Being rich and famous isn't wrong.

but it has to be together with a worship lifestyle.
If not it'll be counterfeit.
